Do you design and install staircases in Geelong?
At Coastal Staircases we design, manufacture and install all of our staircases. At our Geelong factory we fabricate our own steel, wrought iron and aluminium and work with all wood types – most commonly Victorian ash, jarrah, pine, spotted gum, iron bark and blackbutt. This means we can make completely customised staircases to meet your specifications including stair cases, balusters,
balustrades, landings, stair railings, brackets and kits.
Are you able to manufacture a wooden staircase or a steel staircase?
Absolutely, we specialise in modern staircase designs incorporating glass, steel and/or timber. We also construct staircases from budget straight flights in pine or CD ply, steel spiral staircases (one piece including balustrade and landing), to detailed geometric designs in exotic timbers.

Over time your staircase may develop a squeak or creak. Movement can occur in your staircase from the following:
- The weather. Timber expands and shrinks with climate change. Please refer to our timber policy for further information.
- Heavy loads carried up and down the staircase over time.
- Wedges and glue blocks shifting.
When we install a staircase for a customer we recommend that it is not walked on for 24 hours after installation to allow the glue to dry. This should reduce the chances of wedges and glue blocks shifting over time. If you do have a squeak or creak it is generally an easy fix (depending on access). We try to match the timber as close to your flooring as much as possible but there are no grantees as it is a natural product. We have a variety of timber samples to view in our display room if you wish to see some timber types in person.

Timber is a natural product and needs to be properly maintained.
